The end of summer...

This summer I did a placement at....











I started back in the first week of August and last week I finished working there to go back to uni. While I was there I got to do a wide range of things, from designing to visiting the showroom and printers to producing the catalogue, all as part of their SS11 collection.



One of the most exciting aspects of the new collection is a 3D print they have produced in collaboration with photographer Matjaž Tančič.





The print is being produced in both a kimono and a dress.

The title for the SS11 collection is 'Cosmic Tropicalia' and is inspired by nature. Animals, plants and geometric shapes are combined to produce a colourful and exciting collection.

I want one of these...or maybe all of them. At £60 each though I don't think I will be getting one anytime soon.

Casey Reas

I came across these pieces of work after looking at Paul Ryding's blog and an article he wrote for Varoom Magazine on Casey Reas.





These are images 3, 4 and 5 from Reas's Process 14 series.

Reas uses a program called Processing which is 'an open source programming language and environment for people who want to create images, animations, and interactions....initially created to serve as a software sketchbook and to teach fundamentals of computer programming within a visual context, Processing quickly developed into a tool for creating finished professional work as well.'

Heat Sensitive Wallpaper

After looking up about the 'Touch Me' wallpaper I came across this heat sensitive wallpaper by Shi Yuan. I <3 it!
